the Yoga Shoal story

I encourage exploration of the mind/body/soul connection yoga embodies and am dedicated to helping others discover and utilise yoga as a powerful tool in supporting modern day life.

WELCOME TO YOGA SHOAL

I’m Zoë English, a Friends of Yoga – qualified yoga teacher, and Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council – registered yoga therapist. I have been practicing yoga for over 16 years. This eventually led me away from a successful career in project management towards my passion for yoga. After a decade teaching one-to-one private lessons and group classes I embarked on a two-year post-graduate diploma in yoga therapy, and in 2019 qualified to work holistically with clients living with a medical condition.

I’m a certified pregnancy yoga teacher and have enjoyed teaching many women right up to delivery. First Aid trained, I also hold an Enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) certificate enabling me to work with children and vulnerable adults. I’m additionally registered with the International Association of Yoga Therapists.

An avid collector of yoga books I have a library of over 200 titles, all of which are available for my students to borrow!

As a way of practicing karma yoga, I serve as the volunteer PR and Events Officer on the executive committee of the Friends of Yoga training school – a way of giving back to the organisation I trained with and encouraging others on their yoga journey.

I have two much adored whippet-cross rescue dogs – Truffle and Kasper, who my husband and I enjoy walking on the beach near our home on the Manhood Peninsular in West Sussex every day.
